I wanted to share a little about how it was for me to move all alone from Norway to London by myself. I think sharing my experience may help others as well. some of you guys may not know, but I am an international student from Norway.
Me deciding to move and study here was actually not something I thought about for a long time, I guess I just woke up one day and had to leave the country. You see living in a small country as Norway your whole life, you do get bored. Well I know I did. I needed something new to motivate me, new experiences and faces and London fit perfectly.
I had heard a lot of great things about London, so I applied, packed my stuff and left. I know I sound weird, but if I had taken the time to think about it I would not have felt ready or made up an excuse not to go. I definitely don’t regret my decision.
I have lived in London for about one month and a half soon and I would say it is life changing, I am learning new things about myself every day as well as discovering London. The things that have kept me from getting too homesick is friends and being busy. By that I mean I have been lucky to get great friends as well as I have enrolled myself in different clubs at uni so I always have something to do. In that way, you do not get time to get depressed and think about home.
I would defiantly encourage people to study abroad or take an exchange year, make the best out of life. You never know what greatness is waiting for you, I know I am excited about my next chapter.
